In classical criminal law, crime as an abstract and legal phenomenon was the main focus of the trial, but with the emergence of the research school and developments in clinical criminology, the gaze of judicial systems shifted from the criminal act to the perpetrator of the crime. The study of criminal personality is a scientific attempt to understand how the dangerous state is formed and the transition from thought to criminal action occurs. The main goal of this research is to explain the structural nature of personality in delinquent individuals and to examine the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions in reducing the rate of recidivism. In fact, this article seeks to answer the question of how the punishment process can be transformed from a vengeful tool into a therapeutic and corrective mechanism by recognizing the psychological signature of the offender. Research findings show that criminal personality is not an innate and inevitable phenomenon, but rather the product of a complex interaction of cognitive distortions, inability to control impulses, and traumatic childhood experiences. In the field of treatment, new approaches have proven that classic prison-based methods, without psychological attachments, lack the necessary effectiveness. In contrast, interventions based on cognitive-behavioral therapies and schema therapy, by targeting the needs that cause crime, are able to reconstruct the criminal's thought patterns.
